Create More Connection, Intimacy and Ease
- Do you feel stuck in patterns around sex, intimacy, or desire?
- Do you and your partner keep having the same conversations or the same fights?
- Do you struggle with shame, body image, performance anxiety, or confidence?
- Are you trying to understand what you want and how to ask for it?
- Do you want to feel more at home in your sexuality?
- Are you curious about exploring conversations around kink, gender, or sexual orientation?Â
I’m Makenna and I am a Clinical Social Worker and a member of Wise Therapy. I am currently accepting new clients in both Utah and in New York.Â

I work with individuals, couples, and polycules navigating challenges with communication, intimacy, and desire. I also support survivors of sexual abuse and other forms of trauma, people experiencing compulsive sexual behaviors, those exploring their sexual orientation or gender identity, and individuals moving through pregnancy, postpartum, and the transitions into parenthood.

We learn to understand our bodies, desires, and worth through systems that teach us what is acceptable, desirable, and deserving of love. Together, we can question those inherited narratives, loosen shame's hold, and make room for pleasure, joy, and ways of being that feel like your own.

My approach is trauma-informed, sex-positive, relational, and rooted in curiosity. I draw on different therapeutic approaches and make room for the ways that culture, identity, oppression, and lived experience shape the therapeutic space. The teachers and guides who continue to inform my work include professors and supervisors, bell hooks, Thich Nhat Hanh, Jack Kornfield, Toni Morrison, Hafiz, Audre Lorde, the people who have trusted me with their stories, and many others.

You don't need to arrive with the right language or a clear idea of what needs to change. We can begin with where you are, get curious about what you've been carrying, and make space for what you want your life and relationships to become.Â

A Holistic Perspective
I believe in a holistic approach to sex and relational therapy that honors the full spectrum of human experience. We are shaped not only by our relationships and experiences, but also by our upbringing, family systems, culture, identities, social and political contexts, and the worlds we move through. I hold space for all of these layers while offering sex-positive, trauma-informed care. Whether you’re navigating sexual trauma, shame, relationship patterns, desire, intimacy, or exploring kink and other forms of sexuality, we can look at the whole picture with curiosity and compassion. Together, we’ll work toward a deeper, more authentic connection with yourself, your sexuality, and your relationships.
